For those in the 42,-87 graticule, you're (as always) out in the lake. The closest beach is 42.0374870832648067, -87.6696,

or Elliot Park, directly off Greenleaf St. Taking Metra, you're a couple blocks from the Evanston Main St. station on the Union Pacific North line. I can't be there, just passing on the info. According to Google Earth, this is just past where the smooth sands of Elliot beach meets some sort of turbulence. I can't tell from Google Earth if it's trash or rocks or just "not beach." Looks like fun.
