Location
In a community garden in Waikari, Dunedin (misidentified as a sports field)
Participants
Expedition
Spotted a geohash I could get to today.
Took a bus from my place to Dunedin and then another bus to the hash. Google Maps tried directing me through a retirement home, so I about turned and took the long way, walking around the block. Got to the field without issue.
Unfortunately, the field was being used for a sports day for an intermediate school, and the geohash was at the very end of it. I didn't feel like walking by kids and probably being asked to leave by the teachers so I turned around and took a bus back to Dunedin and then home.
After getting back home, I realized that the geohash wasn't on the sports field, but was in the community gardens, which I could have accessed without going through the sports field. Phone maps didn't separate each. It was too late to try again so I gave up for the day.
Lesson learned. Use maps on the computer.
