Little side note, I just signed up today, and have actually been wanting to do some Geo Hashing, but unfortunately haven't been able to due to lack of vehicular transportation or GPS device. I'm 30 years old, Married with 3 kids, so definitely need a vehicle to go places. ... Oh, and if any Geo Hash happens to land in Disney property ... my wife works there, so I could get in there pretty nicely ... unfortunately that would invalidate me for the paid admission award as I'd get in free LOL.

Okey, so I finally got myself a little laptop ... and by little, I mean really little LOL ... the new tiny Acer. It works great. I had picked up a free GPS reciever from my grandfather, but unfortunately it doesn't work at all. So I went looking, I found a USB based GPS reciever ... built into a MOUSE! ... well, it's either a GPS or Mouse, little switch on the bottom switches it between the two.

Anyway, if anyone lives around me, or spots a geo hash that's nearby that I could walk to feel free to e-mail me to remind me of said meeting and when you are planning on meeting there.

So yesterday (4/15/09) I got this mouse/gps, and hooked it all up, took some fidling to get it right, but I did get it working. Looked at the Geohash for that day, and saw it wasn't that far from my house! I went for a little adventure with the kids, and unfortunately didn't get too terribly close... the road ended before the road on my map said it should, and the road was blocked off by cinder blocks... and a few dogs LOL. I didn't think to take any pictures but meh.
