Okey, so I finally got myself a little laptop ... and by little, I mean really little LOL ... the new tiny Acer. It works great. I had picked up a free GPS reciever from my grandfather, but unfortunately it doesn't work at all. So I went looking, I found a USB based GPS reciever ... built into a MOUSE! ... well, it's either a GPS or Mouse, little switch on the bottom switches it between the two.

As of recently, I needed to get a new phone as my previous one broke pretty well off...So I invested in getting a nice little Droid Eris. I happened upon the app for geohashing within the little store thing and installed it. So, now, whenever I remember it, I'll be able to check the hash and possibly visit it.

So yesterday (4/15/09) I got this mouse/gps, and hooked it all up, took some fidling to get it right, but I did get it working. Looked at the Geohash for that day, and saw it wasn't that far from my house! I went for a little adventure with the kids, and unfortunately didn't get too terribly close... the road ended before the road on my map said it should, and the road was blocked off by cinder blocks... and a few dogs LOL. I didn't think to take any pictures but meh.

In case anyone sees any hashes near the Clermont area in Florida, shoot me an e-mail and I'll see what I can do about transportation to it if I can't get my borked car running good enough to come with that...
