When Uplaoding images or working on pages, it Is very helpful to as categories to the page. This makes them wasier to find, and also allows us to determine statistics, and easily see some information about the image / page / thing.

Adding a category is as simple as adding [[Category:Category name]] to the page. That's it!

Here is a list of common categories which should be used, listed by the type of page. Those listed in bold are the most common categories

Expedition reports

Category Description
[[Category:Expedition]] Every expedition report should have this category
[[Category:Expeditions with photos]] Marks this report as having a photo gallery
[[Category:Expedition planning]] Marks this report as being in the planning phase
[[Category:Oops]] If there was something particularly oopsy that happened, and you think others might be able to learn from your mistake (or you just think it's worth a little embarassment to give everyone a good story and a laugh)

Expedition reports --successful

Category Description
[[Category:Coordinates reached]] The coordinates wer reached, and there is proof in the report.
[[Category:Meetup on YYYY-MM-DD]] The date of the meetup the photo is attached to.

Expedition reports --unsuccessful

Category Description
[[Category:Coordinates not reached]] The Latitude and Longditude of the graticule of the expedition hashpoint.
[[Category:Not reached - Mother Nature]] The coordinates were not reached primarily due to nature / the world / scary billygoats / turnips / frogs or other natural phenomenons.
[[Category:Not reached - No public access]] The coordinates were not reached primarily due to the hash point falling on private land, or land where tresspassing is forbidden.
[[Category:Not reached - Technology]] The coordinates were not reached primarily due to a techical problem, with either the technology or it's user.
[[Category:Not reached - Did not attempt]] The expedition was not attempted for some reason. Maybe people were just boring today.
[[Category:Not reached - Time constraints]] The coordinates were not reached primarily due to time constraints.
[[Category:Not reached - Unknown]] For other reasons the coordinates were not reached. This is for reasons not covered by the above categories. In Cases where actual memory loss has occured while on a hashing expedition, combine this category with a user-techical-fail.

Expedition images

Category Description
[[Category:Meetup in LAT LONG]] The Latitude and Longditude of the graticule of the expedition hashpoint.
[[Category:Meetup on YYYY-MM-DD]] The date of the meetup the photo is attached to.
