Who deservse a geohashing calendar more than the creator of XKCD! Here's a letter to go with it, let me know what you think!

Dear Mr. Munroe,

A year and a half ago, you created something. Some people didn't understand it. Some people just laughed at it. Some people even tried it out. But some of us... took it way too far.

I speak, of course, of Geohashing.

Since then we've hiked through forests, crossed deserts, climbed mountains, waded through swamps, swam in lakes, crossed borders and sometimes just stayed in our own towns.

We've gotten there by walking (sometime over 40km), by biking (sometimes for more than 24 hours), by taking cars, buses, trams, trains and subways. We've inflated, rented, purchased and constructed boats. We've used skis, long-boards, cable cars, and even diverted planes.

We've dragged our friends, our parents, our coworkers, our siblings, our spouse, our grandparent, our children and even complete strangers along with us.

We've dressed up as pirates, preformed circus tricks, played twister, gone golfing, had dinner and drinks, stuffed phone booths, discovered geocaches, had picnics, had sex, built snowmen and sent postcards (although not all at the same time).

We've geohashed in the day, in the middle of the night, in the sun, in the rain, in the cold, in the heat, on the ground, above the ground, under the ground, under water, on our birthdays, on our anniversaries and on our hashiversaries.

We've gotten lost, stuck and rescued. We've been attacked by raptors, sprained ankles, broken bones and been sent to the hospital.

We've met, hung out, eaten dinner, gotten in cars and made life long friends with complete strangers all with the reassurance that we shouldn't worry, because they're from the Internet!

Oh, and we also made this sexy Geohashing calendar!

We've had the time and adventures of our lives! Thanks for making it happen!
