Participants
Plans
Train to Preston from Blackburn, then cycle north to the hash. Either return to Preston to get the train home, or cycle straight home if I'm feeling up to it.
Expedition
The train journey to Preston was relatively uneventful; one child seemed intrigued by my wearing sunglasses on a shady day, and by the way I'd tucked my tracksuit bottoms into my socks (of course to avoid pants/chain interface), but I made my exit from the train, and Preston station, and headed North along the A6.
I overshot the hash at first because from my StreetView surveying I thought it to be in the middle of an open field with a footpath running through it; in fact the cache was within the fence of a fertilizer manufacturing facility, which was closed on the day. There's quite a generous forecourt to this facility, but I still had to thrust my phone arm through the gate in order to get the GPSr to register the correct co-ordinates.
Hash complete, I returned home by cycle via Longridge and Ribchester, cutting off the corner and avoiding the train journey home.
Tracklog
Runkeeper Log 1 and 2, with elevation and speed profile.
Total journey: 34.41mi (53.38km) in 2h27m32s, climb of 1351ft (412m)
