I live in the Los Angeles, California, graticule. After lurking for more than a year, I am going to try my first expedition on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 -- just across the Los Angeles River from Griffith Park.

• Boppy5 and I will see what is accessible this Wednesday, New Year's Day 2014, on a drive from the Los Angeles graticule to the Temecula area of the Santa Ana graticule. ...and, perhaps, again on Thursday, January 2, for the return trip.

• 2013-12-31, Los Angeles graticule: In the driveway of a duplex residence in Rosemead.
• 2013-12-25, Ridgecrest graticule: No luck. Darkness descended too quickly to make desert hiking feel safe.
• 2013-12-25, Tehachapi graticule: Second success of the day! Boppy5 and I made it to the desert west of California City for a picnic with dogs.
• 2013-12-25, Bakersfield graticule: Good start to the day. {User:Boppy5|Boppy5]] and I visited a field east of Maricopa (and just north of S.R. 166) with three whippets and a vizsla.
• 2013-12-21, Long Beach graticule: My second expedition ... and my first outside of my home graticule. A hillside on the Palos Verdes peninsula between a housing tract and a Southern California Edison electrical substation.
• 2013-12-18, Los Angeles graticule: My first expedition! Rancho Drive, just north of the Bette Davis Picnic Area in Griffith Park. I dragged along Boppy5 to make it a "first" for one other too..
