We don't "need to".  I did it to utilize wasted space, and to make it easier to see more names on one screen (planning for the big rush).  I also purposely set the number of users per column so it would not come out even, that way it will be more inviting for new geohashers to add themselves.  As for the code-comments, it was not meant as a general discussion (though it could be), more as a reminder to myself for early re-edits, until it "settles down" to some design.  Feel free to move or remove the comments.  Next time I edit that page I will remove them (if they are still there). - [[User:M5rammy|m5rammy]] 15:14, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
