Location
Out of the four graticules that might reasonably serve Chicago, the Schaumburg one once again has the closest meeting place to the city. Although yet again the 41,-87 graticule yields interesting farmland way in Indiana.
For those in the 42,-87 graticule, you're (as always) out in the lake. The closest beach is 42.0374870832648067, -87.6696, or Elliot Park, directly off Greenleaf St. Taking Metra, you're a couple blocks from the Evanston Main St. station on the Union Pacific North line. I can't be there, just passing on the info. According to Google Earth, this is just past where the smooth sands of Elliot beach meets some sort of turbulence. I can't tell from Google Earth if it's trash or rocks or just "not beach." Looks like fun.
Getting Together
My friends and I are going to go to the Elliot Park beach location, as this is the closest to where we are and seems like a good time. I hope to see others there, and I'll be sure to update the wiki with pictures and fun stories later this weekend.
Oh, and I WILL be bringing a frisbee.
