Townsville
The Townsville graticule is a pretty good one. It neatly includes Magnetic Island, Crystal Creek and Paluma in the north (but not as far as Paluma Dam), Alligator Creek in the east, and almost reaches Charters Towers in the west. Most of the middle will be pretty hard to get to by road but there is some potential.

Local Geohashers
- Simon made this page. He has a iPhone 3G now and attempted a weekday geohash but didn't get there. He hopes to be at the next Saturday hash point that isn't too far off the bitumen subject to other commitments and the weather. But then he moved to Brisbane in January 2009.
- Matty K has been on four attempts (three successful; one from two in the Townsville grat). He also made this (an alternative algorithm for Townsville) and this (a Facebook group).
He also idles almost continuously on #geohashing.
- YawnWithExcitement has been on several hashes, none actually in his local graticule.
- Twistie has not sucessfully completed a geohash but has been on a few failed expeditions and has handheld GPS which could come in handy.

Current Meetup Location
- Sat, 13-June-2009. This spot seems to be in the middle of a paddock out in a field a few kilometers from Harveys Range Road just a bit on from Black River Road. Google maps shows a road there but the sat shows that its in the middle of a field and nowhere near a road.
Recent Unattended Saturday Locations
These are only the most potentially accessible Saturday meetup locations to which no one went.
- Sat, 24-May-2008. Right near the beach 10 minutes north of Saunders Beach. There's a dirt road you can see on the satellite view. Would have been a great spot!
- Sat, 28-Jun-2008. Near an apparent crater and some sort of industrial area (a quarry?) near Dotswood... wherever that is.
- Sat, 12-Jul-2008. Near Dotswood again. There's some sort of dirt road on the satellite view.
- Sat, 16-Aug-2008. Someone's front yard at Alice River. Definitely doable.
- Sat, 27-Sep-2008. Out near the Towers, just north of the river. There's a dirt track from the highway, past a homestead, to the point (200m off), so maybe doable. (*sigh* —Matty)
- Sat, 28-Mar-2009. Just by a road at Bluewater.
