About
Saturday's hash location is in a backyard on Eason Rd. in Waterford.
Plan
Bill^2: I've proposed an alternate meetup location at Sandburg Elementary, one street over on Merry Rd. I don't know if there's any public access to Watkins Lake, just to the west of the hash location, but that would be a good alternate as well. Weather willing, I'll plan on being there at 4pm on Saturday. I may even be able to steal the youngest geohasher achievement while I'm at it!
Meetup
Bill^2, wife Sarah, son Brayden (youngest geohasher!) and mom-in-law Gretchen showed up just short of 4pm at the alternate meetup location. After snapping a couple of pictures, Joel and David showed up and we began scouting locations for a game of train dominoes. As we prepared to play, Paris pulled in. After the first game, Sarah wandered back to the car to feed Brayden, and the just-arrived (on ripstik) Chris replaced her in the game. We played three hands, with Paris winning fairly handily.
It was time to move around some after an hour or so of sitting on the concrete outside of the school. Bill, Joel and David threw a frisbee around, while Chris retrieved his unicycle from the car and took it for a spin. Bill, David and Paris each took a test ride on it, supported by two of the others. With 6pm nearing, it was deemed time to clean up, make our marks, and search for sustenance. With our desired destination of Fat Tony's Diner apparently out of business, we settled on Hot Pepper Thai on Pontiac Lake Road. The food was good but the service unbelievably slow, with the last of the entrees arriving about the same time the first were being finished.
