A hashscot is a geohashing mascot, a toy, pet or other token that accompanies a geohasher to the geohash without serving any real purpose as equipment. Hashscots can be useful, however, as conversation starters. ("Did you know you have a dinosaur on your bicycle?") or to photograph at the geohash for solo adventures who haven't mastered the arms' length camera self-portrait trick.
If you photograph your hashscot at the geohash, be sure to include [[Category:Hashscots]] in the Summary box, so as to add it to the gallery. You can also put one picture of it on the Hashscots page.
