Welcome to the Geohashing Community! Any relation to TriosLosDios? --Fippe (talk) 18:33, 17 February 2023 (UTC)

The coordinates for 2023-10-05 30 -87 are in the Gulf of Mexico. Are you sure you went there? --Fippe (talk) 19:54, 6 October 2023 (UTC)

Yes, we were at Gulf of Mexico ⛱️

Questions about your expeditions

Hi again! I have some questions about your expeditions. The existing pages are a bit sparse, and it would be cool if you could provide more details about the expeditions.

  • 2022-08-08 30 -86: This was the water geohash. The coordinates are reasonably close to the coast, and you did post a photo from inside a boat. However, I am wondering if you kept anything from back then that shows that your coordinates are near the Geohash's coordinates. Were you aware that you were Geohashing at the time or was it a Curse of Unawareness, where you only realized that you have been at the right coordinates after the fact? Were you even aware that Geohashing is a thing back then? It was from before you created you account.
    • The photo was almost certainly taken in the Pensacola Bay facing West towards the Pensacola Bay Bridge. The photo was probably taken approximately 55km from the point itself. Although it is possible that the point was reached it seems unlikely without proof. Just adding something I noticed :) --KerrMcF (talk) 22:56, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
  • 2023-10-05 30 -87: This was the "first sip" geohash. The coordinates are far into the Gulf of Mexico, and the coordinates from the photo are in Milton, far away from the coast. Did you actually attempt to reach these coordinates or at least go to the coast on this day?
Yes, we were at the Gulf of Mexico ⛱️
  • 2023-10-07 30 -87: The coordinates for this day were in Baldwin County, Alabama, but the page describes it as Santa Rosa County, Florida. The day's photo gallery links to this expedition as Milton, Florida and contains a Google Streetview screenshot. Did you stay in Milton on this day or did you actually go to Alabama on that day to reach the coordinates? Did you take any photos there, yourself?

Sorry for asking so many questions, I hope you can understand that I am just a bit confused. Hopefully we can clear these things up.

I have also noticed that you seem to be struggling with editing this wiki. Have you tried out the Geohash Droid? It could make posting photos and messages together with your location easier. --Fippe (talk) 12:18, 10 October 2023 (UTC)

You seem to be uncertain on what is classified as a success for this sport. It is less of a commentary on where past points have been and more of a game of attempting to reach the exact point. You appear to be going to the general area of certain geohashes and writing these as successes, but a success only counts if you go to the actual point itself - the specific coordinates. You seem to be a little confused regarding this, so I hope it helps to clear things up a little. In your recent expedition - 2024-07-10 30 -87 - you seem to have travelled to the cul-de-sac containing the house in which the coordinates resided, but did not go to the coordinates themselves. This does not count as a success, as the exact coordinates were not reached. This is also why your claim that you have earned the Fly a kite achievement has been removed several times, because it does not meet the criteria of actually visiting the coordinates. --KerrMcF (talk) 14:10, 20 July 2024 (UTC)

Email Confirmation Question

Hello fellow gehashers & Fippe (talk) & KerrMcF (talk) ... For some reason my email address confirmation on geohashing site has not even been verified. Even though I followed the instructions to send a confirmation code to verify my email; I have yet to ever receive a email confirmation code. Does anyone know if this is maybe a "glitch" ... & Any suggestions or advice to clear up this issue Will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks 😊

Hello TriosLosDios. This is an issue that I have also been having and yet have not been able to resolve. I believe it is some kind of issue with the code, but my attempt to contact the developer of this code (26-03-24) resulted in no response of any kind. It's an issue that has now existed for at least 11 months, and I hope a resolution appears at some point, but I cannot give you any suggestions or advice regarding this. I do, however, have a couple of pieces of advice for you, which I've written in the section above this one. --KerrMcF (talk) 14:10, 20 July 2024 (UTC)

Okay, Thanks KerrMcF(talk) for update about this subject. If you hear of this issue being corrected or know of another way to verify email confirmation keep me posted. Thanks! TriosLosDios850 (talk)

Hi! You claimed the origin geohash achievement for this location. The Origin Geohash achievement means visiting the retrohash for the day you were born. This would make you nine years old. You also mention that you are married on your userpage. I find it a bit hard to believe that you are nine years old. Do you understand what the origin geohash achievement is? --Fippe (talk) 08:18, 13 April 2024 (UTC)

Hello 👋 Fippe Yes, I am married and also we do have a nine year old daughter that is on our team TriosLosDios850. However, it's so very true, we were unaware of 2 different birthday geohash achievements 🥳 Again, thanks for the ongoing encouragement and inspiration ✨️ --TriosLosDios850 (talk)
Okay, so this is your daughter's origin then. My next question is, did you actually physically go to these coordinates? --Fippe (talk) 17:37, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
