During the winter holidays, this graticule is officially twinned with Oslo, Norway. If you choose to go hashing in this graticule in the time from December 23 to January 3, you have to bring any of the elements from the Oslo coat of arms (room for creativity there) to celebrate your sister graticule. Oslo hashers should do the same with the North Rhine Westphalia coat of arms (which would probably involve small white horses on red ground).

About
The Ems, Germany graticule is a good alternative for people from Enschede, Osnabrück or Münster. All these cities are just outside this graticule. Hashpoints in this graticule will therefore quite often be closer than hashpoints in their own graticule. This graticule has no active Geohashers from itself.
The area is mainly flat and rural, and quite easy to access. The city of Rheine is the largest and most central city. The Ems is the river that flows from the south to the northwest through the graticule.
