Plans

Go there and back on my bull.

Expedition

I started later than expected at half past twelve and the weather was already hot, but as I knew the way quite good (as I rode to Bretten before) I rode pretty fast. When I came to the road from Waghäusel to Hammbrücken a lot of very old cars came along and I took some pictures of them. There were always coming more of them and every now and then someone stands in the bushes next to the road and was taking pictures. But when I reached Brucsal I must have left the route of the rally. Here I rode through the garden of the castle of Bruchsal and I guess, I didn't load up a picture of that yet :-)

I found my way through Bruchsal better this time although I still took two wrong turns. Then I continued my way through the valley of the Kraichbach to Bretten. After I left that town again I came to a nice forest and a big parking lot. As I found out there was a zoo in Bretten and it was obviously good visited. But I had to go further and ride into the forest. Shortly after I had reached my aim for today. I parked the bull near a bench and looked into the dense green. Garmin says that I had to go 12 m into the dense nettles. Then I found a trampled path and an wooden X at its entrance. Ninjas? I followed the path for some meters but it lead into the wrong direction and so I got out of the nettles again and again into them five meters further. And 2 or 3 meters inside the geohashing-App jumped to a zero (almost), and Garmin also has a 2 (what is definitely good enough in the forest). So I took some pictures and was happy to be able to go on the path again.

A chocolate bar later I was back on the bull and rode back to the zoo again. I decided not to go the same way back again but to ride over Obergrombach and Germersheim. And only now I saw what I missed on my way through the valley: the landscape on this route was so much more beautiful, small hills, with wide views (once even over the rhine valley to the Vosges), vineyards, cornfields and small beautiful villages.

When I reached the rhine river again I was quite exhausted, but I knew a very nice pub on my way and so I made a break with Weizenbier and Brombeer-Käsesahne. After that, that last 20 Kilometers went almost by themselves and so I reached home before 5 o'clock again.
