Plans

I'll try to be there early in the morning for the sunrise achievement (which should be 06:22).

Expedition

Well, this was a nice change of pace. As I had checked the sunrise times yesterday, I noticed it would not be completely unreasonable to visit the has early before work instead of afterwards. I adjusted my planing accordingly and adjusted my drive to work to accommodate the visit to the hash-location. I first considered doing a Hobbit run and/or a No Batteries Achievement, but ultimately decided against it in favor of a few more minutes of sleep.

The actual expedition was quite uneventful. I drove to the nearby Airfield, parked at a nice vantage point with a gorgeous view over the Mosel river and walked towards the Hashpoint. Arriving a few minutes early I had time to watch the apparently really small cars, boats, trains and almost imperceptible Humans from a nice distance waking up. Everything looked very much like an idyllic miniature model landscape.

Due to the terrain the sun took a few minutes longer than anticipated to appear over the horizon, and I was happy I'd brought my coat to keep me warm while I waited. I should have brought gloves too...

I've been in Winningen before (it's beautiful) and have been in these exact vineyards before on multiple occasions, but never quite at the precise spot – and even if I'd have been, there wouldn't have been proof other than eye-witness accounts. In the attached picture I've placed a red arrow, which shows a path I had walked before and a blue arrow pointing approximately to todays hashpoint. I've missed it by about 50 Meters, so unfortunately I can't claim the Déjà Vu Achievement.

On my way back I took a couple more pictures and as I did so I startled two rabbits which immediately ran away. I pointed my camera towards their new resting place about 100 meters away, but sadly they are essentially invisible on the picture.
