When Uplaoding images or working on pages, it Is very helpful to as categories to the page. This makes them wasier to find, and also allows us to determine statistics, and easily see some information about the image / page / thing.

Adding a category is as simple as adding [[Category:Category name]] to the page. That's it!

Here is a list of common categories which should be used, listed by the type of page. Those listed in bold are the most common categories

Expedition images

Category Description
[[Category:Meetup in LAT LONG]] The Latitude and Longditude of the graticule of the expedition hashpoint.
[[Category:Meetup on YYYY-MM-DD]] The date of the meetup the photo is attached to.
[[Category:Hashscots]] For any images you want to appear in the Hashscot gallery
[[Category:Wildlife]] For any images you want to appear in the Wildlife gallery
[[Category:Oops]] To mark an image as containing an abject lesson in things to avoid doing while on an expedition, or just as a silly silly mistake that will make people laugh.
[[Category:Flora]] This image is of a pretty pretty flower, or contains a lot of them.
[[Category:Architecture]] This is an image of an interesting building or other architectural marvel.
[[Category:Hashtree]] The hashpoint was, by luck, chance and (un)intelligent design, located on/in a tree (some might call it a really big map pin).
[[Category:Outhouses]] you decided to take a photo of an outhouse, and want everyone to know!
[[Category:Panoramas]] Indicates that this image is a panorama, being either stiched together from a series of photos, or taken with a wide-angle lense, fish-eye, magic, or the dark arts or panaramia.
