Use {{location|IL}} to tag expeditions that took place in Israel. It will add Category:Expeditions in Israel to the expedition.
Using ISO 3166-2 abbreviations, you may also tag the district the expedition took place in, and using hierarchical administrative subdivision codes, which can be found here, you can also tag the subdistrict.
If the category link appears red, do not worry and create the category. Make sure that it is included in the appropriate parent category, for instance, Category:Expeditions in Nefat Ashqelon is a subcategory of Category:Expeditions in Mehoz HaDarom which is a subcategory of Category:Expeditions in Israel. The subcategories should be sorted in by their respective code.
