We wanted to to see Gotha after geohashing. Seemed easy enough on the satellite photos.
Expedition
We drove as planned and started down a... well, field road. That wasn't used, or mown, in a LONG time. When it started getting even bushy and full of stinging nettles a couple of hundred meters from the coordinates, we turned around and tried from the other side. MUCH better. We drove on a paved road until we weren't allowed to drive on and walked. Unfortunately, when we walked on a field's edge next to a small, stinking river it eventually turned out that the coordinates lay across the river (managable, with risk of stinking and ill tempered co-hasher), inside the fenced-in meadow. D'oh. We turned around and treated ourselves to the views of Gotha. And some refreshments.
Nice town with great medieval and (mainly) baroque architecture. Worth dropping in, if you are in the area.
