Plans
When I saw that both the Saturday and Sunday geohash locations this weekend were in the Bronx, and were furthermore close both to each other and also to stations on the Six Train, I determined to get both of them in one shot.
The Sunday geohash looks iffy to access; inside a gated parking lot for Affinity Health Plan. There appears to be a diner on the lot, so maybe the gates will be open for that.
I plan to get there on Saturday night just before midnight, so as to already be there to get the Midnight Achievement.

- I guess I missed the midnight achievement, but I'm getting on the train to go to the new location. -- Elipongo (talk) @40.8456,-73.8257 00:03, 8 December 2013 (EST)

- I got here, and boy is it cold. I missed midnight so I didn't have that but I'm headed home now -- Elipongo (talk) @40.8381,-73.8415 00:39, 8 December 2013 (EST)
This is actually the second leg of my geohashing adventures for the evening! For the beginning of the story, see 2013-12-07 40 -73
As my real time comments above allude, I took the New York City Subway to the location, and I missed the Midnight Achievement.
The clock struck midnight as I was walking away from the Saturday location - my own fault, I had meant to get an earlier start so as to give enough leeway time for the MTA's infamous punctuality. I don't know that I was close enough to either location to qualify for the Midnight achievement.
Anyway, I walked to catch the 6 Train at Pelham Bay Park Terminal Station (Made famous by the novel and Movies The Taking of Pelham One Two Three.) I had to wait about ten minutes for the train to pull out - it would've been faster to ride my bike, but if I'd taken that, I wouldn't have earned the Public Transit Achievement, would I? I got off at Westchester Square - East Tremont Ave, then took a short walk to the location.
It was located in the parking lot of a large, single story office building that houses a cubicle farm for a health insurance company, as well as the offices of a teachers union. The parking lot was surrounded by ten foot high chain link fencing. The small gate closest to the location was closed (strange, since the diner closest to that gate was obviously open), but a larger gate was wide open and with nobody staffing its little guard shack, so I simply walked in. I found the location and stood as close to as on top of it as my GPS could measure. I took some snapshot, some of them as I was walking back out.
It was cold, 30 degrees F with a 10mph North wind. Also, I didn't want to explain to someone exactly what I was doing wandering around there that time of night. I didn't linger. Besides, the thumping music from the club across the street was getting on my nerves - I guess I'm getting old, lol!

For some reason the big building uses the cross street as their address. @40.8372,-73.8409
There's the diner but the gate next to it is locked. There's another gate nearby that is open and has no guard in the Shack so I should be able to get in there. @40.8361,-73.8400
