This user earned the Birds of a Feather achievement (??)
by encountering a species which has the Undisclosed conservation status while attempting to reach the ({{{latitude}}}, {{{longitude}}}) geohash on [[{{{date}}} {{{latitude}}} {{{longitude}}}|{{{date}}}]].

The Birds of a Feather achievement can be claimed when you encounter and successfully identify a threatened species listed in the National Red List (for IUCN member countries) either at the geohash or on the journey to the geohash.

Requirements

  • You must encounter a threatened species recognised as such by the National Red List during your expedition.
  • You do not need to reach the geohash to earn this achievement, but a decent attempt should still be made.
  • Your encounter qualifies for this achievement if the species is in a category other than 'Least Concern':
    • Critically Endangered, Endangered, Vulnerable, or Near Threatened.
    • Conservation Dependent should be treated as Near Threatened for this achievement (ref).

For help with identification, you can use the iNaturalist service which helps to contribute to science and may also state the status of the species.

Proof

A photograph of your encounter alongside an identification of its classification.

Categories

The achievement is split into multiple categories for each conservation status. To apply these on the ribbon, you can use the abbreviations (CR/EN/VU/NT) in the 'status' field. Some examples of this can be found in the ribbon template.
