Plan

Even though the hashpoint fell onto private property and therefore the chance of actually reaching the hashpoint was slim, the weather was perfect and it would still be a fun easy weekend expedition to a town i have never been to.

Also there was a Burger restaurant i spotted while looking at the hashpoint online which looked promising.

Expedition

I took my bike onto the Train and got off at the station Oberursel. From there i rode my bike in flawless sunshine following the road L3015. I rode out of Oberursel, through the outskirts of Kronberg im Taunus and finally to Bad Soden. It was a decent route to ride, since there was a fully separated bike path pretty much the whole way, and the road wasn't too busy. Only just after crossing the Schwalbach did i have to take a detour through the forest, but it was actually pretty nice riding in the shade for a bit, even though my road bike is not ideal for forest trails. After a last steep climb I rolled down into Bad Soden. Riding into town there were some very nice homes, especially in the outskirts on the hillside.

First order of business in Bad Soden was Lunch in the aforementioned Burger Restaurant Holy Moly Burger since i had timed the trip accordingly and was getting somewhat hungry. I had the Bluecheeseburger which was very good. Afterwards i pushed my bike through a small part of the Kurpark and up the pedestrian street (Fußgängerzone) in the town center. There was a street market happening, and there were several more restaurants and cafes which all looked quite nice and were full of people. Nice to see local businesses thriving.

I pushed my bike past the Sauerbrunnen, one of the several wells in the town providing water with supposedly healing qualities, due to the minerals in the water.

Afterward i got back on my bike to ride the last bit to the hashpoint. I came across a Hundertwasserhaus (an artsy house, Germans will know) which i took a horrible picture of, look on Street view for a better view. As i knew the hashpoint was on private ground i slowly rode my bike past the house to scope out the situation. I found a spot to park my bike next to the public outdoor swimming pool, which was packed of people trying to beat the heat. I walked back to the hashpoint but was already pretty sure i would not be able to reach this one.

Here was the situation: The property in which the hashpoint was located has two houses built on it, one behind the other. The hashpoint was on the backside of the front house. There was a footpath to get to the house in the back, so it might have been possible to get close enough without entering the house, however that footpath was clearly part of the private property, as the mailboxes and doorbells for both houses were out in front. So nobody who does not actually belong there would have any business being on that path. There were big floor to ceiling windows right into the ground floor flats living room and it looked like they were home since the windows were tilted slightly open. I would have had to pass right in front of those windows to attempt reaching the hashpoint. Especially in these nicer neighborhoods i did not want to give the impression of maybe scoping out houses. So i accepted the misfortune, took some quick pictures from the street and walked back to my bike without lingering.

Since i did not want to ride back the same way i came i picked a route to a different station on the same line, Rödelheim. There is also a station in Bad Soden itself, so i could have done the entire expedition by train and foot, but where is the fun in that on a day with good weather. On the way out of Bad Soden i was surprised to find a decent sized festival (eating and drinking, not music) in the Wilhelmspark, which also was packed full of people. So not only the restaurants, cafes, the street market and the public swimming pool were full of people, but there was also a packed festival going on. Seems absolutely everyone was out and about, not that i can blame them on a day with such perfect weather for these activities.

The ride to Rödelheim was nice and uneventful, with a highlight being the "Parkanlage Sulzbachtal" which was just a super nice park with the stream Sulzbach running through it.
