Expedition
I showed up pre-Target shopping run and parked in the completely unfilled parking lot. The lot and the building were both empty as a desert and quiet as a cemetery. Signs on the building say NATIONAL AMERICAN UNIVERSITY which, for the non-Americans reading, is a private for-profit online university (read: scam) whose famously catchy ad jingles often featured on television when I was a kid. Now the building is a 'conference center' except it is completely empty as you'll see from the photos. I thought there was a ~2% chance I could enter, alas no luck — apparently "night-time, anytime!" from the ad song was not actually true. So I went around the back to get as close as possible to the hash, and oh boy. As of today Minnesota is cold. Not 0 C cold, not 0 F cold, but "health risk to have exposed skin for any real length of time" cold. It's that dang wind. I snapped a photo of the liminal, eerie interior through the windows and hurried back to the car.
