Expedition

I've been lurking on the geohash site for a while now. I was looking for an easy hash to start off with. This one looked to be in a parking lot about 400 meters from the subway entrance. I was planning to pass through that subway station on my way home that day only (had to pick up my Halloween costume from the shop!) Can't get easier than that, right?

As soon as I exited the station, I knew I was going to be disappointed. There was new construction for an entire city block, all of high rise apartment buildings (big ass-buildings!) But I hoped that the new construction might stop before the hash point, or that I might sneak my way past and take a peak (if it wasn't too dangerous looking.)

But, alas, there was active construction. Guards were posted at all the entrances, and even if I could explain Geohashing to a non-English speaking Korean, I don't know that I would. And I especially have a healthy fear for construction workers, in mass.

by almost reaching the (37, 126) geohash on 2009-10-29.
