Plans

Will head out after work for my first real bike ride in a LONG time. Fortunately, the route is pretty flat and I will take it easy going there. I plan on stopping for a few geocaches on the way. Will be almost 30 miles round trip so it's going to be rough as I'm not as fit as I'd like.

Expedition

Was a beautiful ride down to the hash, but it was a bit breezy in my face the whole way. I broke up the ride by making a few stops for some geocaches which happened to be perfectly spaced apart, being about 5, 4 and 3 miles apart for the first 3, respectively. I was going to get to the hash first and then pick up the last geocache on the way back as it was just 0.2 miles from the hash for an honorary mention for the collision ribbon.

However, as I was on the last road to the hash, I could see the woods I would be walking though, were covered in large area, shallow, swampy pools. Every once in a while, I also got a whiff of the 'fragrant' swamp water, too. But what is this? Posted signs? Shucks, No trespassing. </sarcasm>

Glad to not have cold, wet and smelly feet for the ride home, I turned around and found that last geocache. The rest of the ride back, I was helped by the wind but with about 8 miles to go, I was really starting to suffer. Pushing through, I eventually made it home, where I baked my pizza I made for dinner (I made the crust before I left to give it time to rise).
