Expedition

We drove to Stockstadt (am Rhein) in the evening. Santu was driving and navigating. As we entered the town, Gefrierbrand got confused for a moment and wondered about Stockstadt (am Main) being closer than he remembered before he realized that there must be two places with the same name (ignoring the rivers). What a perfect opportunity for a Tale of Two Hashes challenge! We then parked about 1.5 km away from the hashpoint next to some half-pipes and other skating ramps.

We started walking towards the hashoint. After a few dozen meters, Santu was unsure if she'd locked the car and Gefrierbdand very happily demonstrated that the range of electronic key fobs can be extended by holding them next to your head. Continuing on foot, we passed between several really beautiful smaller lakes and arrived at the hashlocation without any problems.

At the point, Gefrierbrand absolutely wanted to do a cartwheel, even though Santu had warned about nettles in the meadow just a few seconds earlier. He succeeded, but let's just say quickly sticking your hand into stinging plants is no good idea. Luckily, there was no real harm done and we walked back before driving home.

The area is absolutely worth a visit and we will certainly explore the Kühkopf-Knoblochsaue nature preserve in more detail in the near future.
