I live in the Los Angeles, California, graticule. After lurking for more than a year, I am going to try my first expedition on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 -- just across the Los Angeles River from Griffith Park.

• 2013-12-25_35_-117: No luck. Darkness descended too quickly to make desert hiking feel safe.
• 2013-12-25_35_-118: Second success of the day! Boppy5 and I made it to the desert west of California City for a picnic with dogs.
• 2013-12-25_35_-119: Good start to the day. {User:Boppy5|Boppy5]] and I visited a field east of Maricopa (and just north of S.R. 166) with three whippets and a vizsla.
• 2013-12-21: My second expedition ... and my first outside of my home graticule. A hillside on the Palos Verdes peninsula between a housing tract and a Southern California Edison electrical substation. Long Beach graticule.
• 2013-12-18: My first expedition! Rancho Drive, just north of the Bette Davis Picnic Area in Griffith Park. I dragged along Boppy5 to make it a "first" for one other too. Los Angeles graticule.
