I'm a UBC grad student in Chemistry.

The first geohash I reached was 2008-05-24 in the Surrey, British Columbia graticule. The meetup was in Langley behind a house on a farm. The owners were very nice. I got there by racking my bicycle to several long buses and then riding from the closest bus stop.

-yes sorry there are a few bugs with the finding of the best location. So far they fix themselves after a few refreshes but i think its due to repeated calls i have to make to google's map API
