Using a Saturaday with perfect weather, grabbing my son Kellerkind and our bikes, jump on a train to shorten the way and reach my first "Displaced origin geohash achievement" After the hash enjoy some more riding on our bicycles.

Expedition

Sleeping late, having a nice breakfast, reaching our train to Neustadt an der Weinstraße leaving Karlsruhe at 10:05 am without any haste, reading new and old newspapers during the journey and arriving at Neustadt just before 11 am. Grab our bikes, apply some sun protection and start our ride through Neustadt and the Speyerbach valley to Lambrecht. On our way to the hash we used small forest roads, came along some lost places (old factory, abandoned supermarket), cycled along some lovely creek which seemed to invite us to put our feet into them and finally reached a parking spot for our bicycles to start the second part of the journay, the hike. Walking steep up on the hill near the Helmbach valley (a tributary valley to the Speyerbach valley) we reached a cliffy hill near a junction and searched for the right place to climb up. Some minutes later we reached the hash point in the light forest which gave us no real challenge to cross. Someone left a chair ten meters from the hash target ;-) After riding back to Neustadt we enjoyed a delicious asian fusion meal at Ikigai (Hauptstraße 34, Homepage ). While waiting for the food, I wrote a post card to Johanna, one of my many nieces. On our way back to Karlsruhe we rided on bike to Landau, visited the former Landesgartenschau area and took a train back to Karlsruhe. What a beautiful and adventure-packed day.
