Expedition After Action Report

First known successful expedition in this graticule done by Bos solo.

Geohasher Bos earned the Graticule Unlocked Achievement
by being the first to reach any hashpoint in the (31, -86) graticule, here, on 2009-04-18.

Rushed research launches to early completion at Samson Alabama rocket test facility . Beat feet across southern Alabama to make the meet at the appointed hour.

Alas attendees were limited to three dogs and Bos. The dogs greeted me from a large fenced enclosed yard next to the geohash access road. Looked in vain for a human to discuss my mission with but failing that I explained it to the dogs. They didn't seem to care but had fun raising the alarm. The hash was in a tree farm pretty close to the paved highway. I chalked my xkcd sign on the highway in front of the farm gate. The gate was locked but signs indicated the tree farm was approved for recreational use so I recreationed down the graded dirt track to within some 50 meters south of the hash. There I met some fairly dense brush but crashed through with minimal injury and arrived at the coordinates in a relatively open swampy hollow between two ridge lines. Hung around a few minutes before retracing my steps.

Another successful but lonely geocache. First in the Andalusia graticule. Said so-long to the dogs and departed to check out another National Geodetic Survey (NGS) triangulation station
