Plans
Amazingly, this hash was only a mile or so away from the one 2 days ago. I figured another attempt could pay off this time. The downside was I was stuck with the kids again, until my wife got home around 6pm. Once she was in the door, I was out of it.
Expedition
I was able to drive to the hash pretty easily and there was a nice deserted road right beside the woods to park on. The houses haven't caught up to this part yet, so I didn't have anyone to worry about. A (very) short hike through the treeline brought me to the hashpoint. At first, I thought I would be slowed down by the water runoff channel, but enterprising kids had cleared the way for me with a nice 4x4 post. It took me longer to get my GPS to settle down to the coords than it did to walk there.
As nice as it is to get a successful hash, I have so far felt a little disappointed in how easy the ones I have gotten have been. I need a nice challenging one next. I left a hashmark on a nearby cement chunk and head out.
I'm not a real eviro-nut, but I do hate the fact that everywhere I seem to go, the woods are complete crap-holes. People just leave trash everywhere.
