Plans

Plan is to get there at midnight, have a bit of "Glühwein" and something to eat and maybe juggle some balls, do some dancing ... whatever comes to mind and might get us additional achivements ;)

Expedition

We (Mampfred and LadyBB) picked up our friends (QuarterCacher - back then known as Jens ;) and M) at around 11:15 p.m. and drove to the hash in order to achive a midnight geohash. We parked about 300 meters from the hash (straight line) and started walking up a little hill ... which turned out to be quite a steep hill so we all were panting nicely when we finally reached the hash.

We arrived there at about 11:51 p.m. (so there wasn't even a need to rush up the hill ... ah well) and waited to get a couple of screenshots with the coordinates at precisely midnight. First achievement: done.

We then proceeded to have some Glühwein (see here) and some crisps ... which kinda makes it a picnic achievement but not quite. The original reason to bring Glühwein along was that it could get quite cold at midnight in the woods ... but it didn't, we had about five degrees celsius, so there went the frozen hash achievement ("not quite" number two).

QuarterCacher (who before today had never heard of Geo Hashing, drag-along number three for Mampfred) then decided that there should be a midnight-clogging-hash achievement and produced a little wooden board from his backpack along with his clogging shoes (a special form of tap shoes) and a little media player. He then did some impro clogging at midnight in the dark in the middle of the woods (proof here). Now: is that worth an achivement and if so which one? Anyone? Unless somebody can suggest a good fit I guess that will be "not quite" number three ;)

To top off the achievement-fest Mampfred decided to throw in some juggling for good measure (proof here) and QuarterCacher had a look for Geo Caches near by (by that time it was probably close to 1 a.m.). Unfortunately we forgot to mark the spot with a nice XKCD sign and I decided against leaving a poster behind as this could be littering ... hmm, does deciding against littering count as a Geotrash achievement? Not quite ;)

We found a Cache a couple of hundred meters away (GCG0QY) and started off again, looking for blue signs leading us the way to the final location. We finally found it after a lot more walking and hiking but as we didn't really find the Cache right at the Hash it's (again) not quite a Hash Collision achievement. Bummer.

We were glad to be back at the car around 2:11 a.m. All in all we walked about 4.5 km but with a couple of hundred meters up and down so we were quite exhausted on the way back. The hash was only 600 meters from the car so it wasn't even a very impressive Walk Geohash achievement (another "not quite"). All in all enough "not quite"s to earn the Radio Yerevan achievement - twice :)

Is it true that this user earned the picnic-, frozen hash-, hash collision-, geotrash- or clogging-achievement in one expedition?
In principle, yes.
But there was one or more of "not enough planning", "not enough food/cutlery", "not as cold as planned", "cache not close enough to the hash", "no litter around, littering yourself doesn't count" or "no suitable achievement (yet)" ;) (2010-11-01 50 8).
