A field on the edge of the "Alteburger Markt" in Idstein-Heftrich

Down the "Heftricher Weg" towards Heftrich to the "Alteburger Markt", sounds easy ... through the woods for ~ 5 - 5.5km. Not having a classic carriage nor a tractor at my disposal, I will probably attempt this on foot or by bike (looking at the weather it's gonna be by foot). Dawn is at 7am, sun down at 4:30pm. I'll need at least two hours, so I might have to do this before breakfast!! Starting at 7am, of course my favourite time of the day - aaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!

As a result of the present darkness I started half an hour later than planned and it was still pretty dark. But I was prepared with warm clothes and hiking boots, something to drink and eat, a cycling-map of the area and my good old mobil Nokia N73 (plus a GPS-dongle and the programme sports tacker) to direct me to the desired coordinates. And so I went of into the dark forest. But as expected soon it got brighter. Although my choosen way was a frequently used forest path the walk was not easy. In the lanes it was icy under the fresh fallen snow, so mostly I took the middle way with a snow crust unter the first 5 cm snow. But on the other hand the weather was gerat and I really enjoy the walking.

When I left the forest on the other side of the hill and passed the the old roman castle "Alteburg" the sun start rising. (This "numerus castle" belogs to the west taunus line of the Obergermanisch-Raetischen Limes, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2005.) A last turn to the right into a little field path and I tried to find the most exact coordinates I could get on my display. I took a few photos and started my way back through the forest where I felt myself a little bit like "Hänsel und Gretel" just with the difference that my "coated breadcrumbs" - my footprints - were still there! :)

All in all I had two and a half houres of great walking in mother nature ... only with just one unlovely late effect - sore muscles on the next day!
