Location

About 15 km north of Freiburg in what appears to be a vineyard just outside a place called Köndringen. The way from Freiburg seems pretty flat, the hash itself in some foothills of the Black Forest.

Hijackal + dragalong

Plans

Hijackal wants to convince a colleague to go for an afternoon cycling hash. Round-trip distance should be around 60 km for the dragalong any maybe 80 for Hijackal. Weather is supposed to be fine, and he seemed not totally put of by the idea when he left work today...

We plan to meet somehwere at the Dreisam in Freiburg and follow it north, maybe even until it meets the Elz in Riegel, and then ride againt the Elz' flow, which comes as close as 1 km to the hash.

Expedition

Almost as planned. Hijackal met his colleague exactly as scheduled. About halfway down the Dreisam, the two were rather surprised to find that there is no continuous cycling path along the Dreisam, although the rest of this area has very nice and well labelled paths. So, we left the Dreisam at Bottingen and followed the signs for Teningen. From there, the hash was easily found - no fences, just about 100 m off the main road.

Noone else seemed to turn up, so the party of two went off searching for ice cream. Köndringen itself is so tiny that none was to be found there. Teningen did have an ice cream parlour though, and the timing was perfect: it rained while the ice cream was consumed, and the sun came back just in time for the trip back.

Rather boring, yes. But a very nice ride.
