Plans

Mampfred told me about the coincidence of today's and tomorrow's geohash coordinates being only 8km apart on Friday. So he planned to do a double hash, the latter on midnight. Fancy idea, if my girlfriend agrees to that idea.

Expedition

After checking the coordinates for our graticule, she decided she does.

We started at about 22:30 and drove to the coordinates mainly by car navigation, then switched to the hand unit when getting close. Unfortunately, the road by the hash point was well frequented by speedy locals and there wasn't any opportunity to park a car without it standing halfway on the road, potentially leading to BIG BADABOOM. Hence, we parked some 800m off on a restaurant parking lot and walked along the field's border and then into the field for the last 100m. I actually have no idea what was planted there, it looked like the field had been harvested and then either some weed had taken to the field or rather a fallow plant was sown there. Anyway, we arrived without difficulty, the problem rather was that I still don't know my new camera- but hey, a torch lit hash grin photo is more interesting, anyway- isn't it? Back to the car and off to 2011-08-28 51 11, bearing very muddy shoes (Yakamoz) and very muddy ex-white Sneakers for forgetting to change into the hash boots (me, d'oh!).
