Plans

Wijnland Will spend my Easter weekend on camping Vancouver Island (bamfield\pacheena bay) with some friends and get this Virgin graticule geohased (I'll leave vancouver friday 0500 and return monday 1700)

Expedition

We left very early on Friday to get on the early boat as lots of ferry traffic could be expected and we did not want to wait hours for the ferry. we got on the 0700 and after getting some groceries and other supplies we head out into the forests through cowichan lake, youbou, lots of logging roads to get to Pacheena bay. The route was rough, but very nice. We camped out in Pacheena bay with a great view and did some nice hiking on Saturday. On Sunday we packed to drive by the geohash, just of the north side of the Nitinat lake (inlet). The location was actually still just on the road, so we did not even have to go into the forest. After reaching the coordinates we tried to follow the same road as an alternate route to Caycuse. That did not work out well, the route was not so good and very steep and we were unsure if we were still on track, so we turned an took the main road back after a coin toss and some debate.

From the track log I found that we were actually of the route, and the trail that was the actual road, was completely overgrown and unfit to drive on with my van.

I filed this report twice, because I accidentally close the tab when I was almost finished...
