First off, I used to live in east Tennessee, and formerly took the geohash virginity of the Williamsburg, KY graticule. That said, I took a job in Corpus Christi and decided to explore the local geography.
Working right by the airport, I checked the daily hashpoint to see if it was at all conveniently located. Being in Texas, most of the hashpoints are off limits due to the large amounts of private property and the large numbers of people who just love their second amendment rights. Fortunately for me, it was located on obviously public property...the driveway to the Corpus Christi Pistol and Rifle club. Also, it was not too far out of the way, and only about 2 miles from my office.
So I hopped in my car, drove down Farm to Market Road 763, and parked near the side of the driveway. It was about 500 ft to the club itself. I wandered around with the GPS, found the location, and realized I'm probably one of the only people to successfully make it to a hashpoint with firearms going off in close proximity.
