Expedition
The most notable feature of Mettmenstetten village is its name. Due to its melodious sound and internal rhyme, it is featured in some songs Calamus had to learn in kindergarten. The rest of the village is mostly insignificant. But it became two hundred percent more interesting to Calamus when a hashpoint was announced to be in its perimeter.
The journey was quiet. So was Mettmenstetten. Calamus got out of it. It was a sunny day, and since the beginning of June is known to be an excellent time for doing the first mowing, the smell of freshly cut hay lay in the air. The paths were populated with children on their bikes, apparently taking the day off.
When passing Uttenberg, Calamus encountered a cat guarding some trees. Calamus tried not to look like an intruder, and the cat rolled before him, inviting him to pat it. Calamus added a mental check to his mental achievement list and went on.
The hashpoint was next to a farm, at the side of a hill. The farm had a fence around it, so Calamus had to climb the hill instead of taking the street. But it wasn't a long distance.
The way back was equally unspectacular. The cat was, not surprisingly, gone and there was a train ready for Calamus to return.
