Expedition
The daughter of Pastori had been in Japan for a year to study there, and was now returning to Finland. Of course we wanted to pick her up from the airport in Helsinki, which was 500 km from our home. Pastori of course didn't want to take the most direct route, and suitably there was an exotic hashpoint near the border of Russia for the day. Lets go then!
The point was easily located beyond some bendy gravel roads. We walked 400 meters along an easy roadbed and then into the woods for 100 meters. Our accuracy was 0,2 meters! It was nice to wander along the dry pine forest snatching bilberries and raspberries along the way. What a splendid day to enjoy some fresh air with The Wife! We took some pictures and then visited the Russian border station.
Then we quickly drove the rest of the way along motorways to the Helsinki city area. Our total distance today was 675 km, it took 12 hours and temperature was 26 °C [Editor's note: And Pastori's car doesn't have air conditioning]. Our spirits were high anyway; we would soon be united with our only daughter!
