Pastori venturing into unknown forest - in the midst of the biggest Metropolitan area of Finland.

Pastori and The Wife decided to go visit the newcomer of their family in Espoo, about 560 km away. Our son's daughter had been born about three weeks ago and it was about time to go say hello to her. When we left Valtimo, the temperature was about 3 degrees, and in Southern Finland the thermometer said 27! A huge shift, but to a very pleasant direction.

The next day's hashpoint was about 3 km away as the bird flies, so we had to visit it. By now the temperature in the south had also dropped to about 9 degrees. By car the trip was about 10 km of circling, and then the point was beside us, only 80 meters from the road. Next some easy walking along forest paths between tall spruces and blueberry-type undergrowth. We reached the accuracy of about 2 meters. Near the point there was the previous car of some Finnish rally driver, Pastori guessed. The car was through and through wornout!

With Pastori's car, which was in a little better condition, we returned to wonder the tiny, new life. The little one of course conquered Pastori's and The Wife's hearts completely.

Tomorrow, our journey continues towards home and we will boldly go where no man has gone before, that is the next hashpoint somewhere, sometime that is already awaiting us.
