Sam was a guest of Leah's, so given Leah's oft-stated predisposition against joining us on geohashing expeditions I was pleasantly surprised by Sam's willingness to try new things. What an introduction it was! The day was hot, the hills were steep, and there were mosquitoes everywhere, probably from the stagnant pools of water (which Daisy happily lapped up). We finally reached the hashpoint after some time, took our goofy dusty grins photo, and headed back for showers and naps.

I walked for half an hour in a dense forest so that I could take a picture of my stuffed animal.
It was worth it.
