Location

Near a town called “Metzeral” in France. The actual spot was on a large beautiful lawn.

Participants

We were 2, and this was our first geohash. It was more or less spontanous. ;-) Only one of us has an account right now, me: MonsterMind

Expedition

Basically we practially wanted more or less to escape the stupid weather in Germany. So we headed to France and I was like “Why not making a geohash today? I know today’s coordinates.”. So we went all the way towards the spot; most of the time, by car. As you can easily see on the map, the spot is not very far off from a track through a forest. Approximately at the river “La Fecht”, which is south of the spot, we had to leave the car and went said forest track by foot. The first part of the way was nothing interesting. Then we saw a nice little waterfall near the way and shortly after that we passed a very nice little farm which seems to be built for family/youth vacations or something like that. From the farm, it was not far until we reached the spot.

I would say the way to the spot took 30min to 1h, I am not quite sure.

We took a slightly different way back which took us through the town, as you can see on the last photo.

In conclusion, we both agreed that we got really got lucky with our first geohash and we enjoyed our small tour.

In conclusion, I would say that it’s quite amazing what can happen if you let the Dow Jones index determine where you want to go to. xD

Photos

Sorry for the awful photos. :-/ Better than nothing.
