Expedition

My older road bike I'm especially using for dragging Bergies bicycle trailer had major technical issues for the last months which I was eliminating subsequently. After having changed numerous parts I was hoping that it would finally run properly again. An acid test had to be conducted on Monday evening when the hashpoint was in perfect distance from Jena for a ride together with Bergie. Direct route there (almost direct, of course, we used the Saale bike path) was 20 km. My bike was running smooth and Bergie fell asleep after about 11 km. The hash was in knee-high weed, but a path lead almost there which I could ride down carefully. Since Bergie didn't wake up, I pushed bike and trailer for the last meters to the hash while the bike's pedals and brand-new rear derailleur picked up each and every piece of weed. Took some photos, pushed the bike back to the road and decided I could make a detour via Trotz though it was getting dark already. Bergie overslept all the way home except for one or two minutes. When she woke up in front of our house her first words (German, of course) were "Got dark. ... The bike fixed again! Pulling my trailer!" :-)
