The Expedition

I had a day off, not my choice though. My place of work is closed because of carnival (Shrove Tuesday, Mardi Gras or whatever you might call it). I took the opportunity to for an attempt.

I slept long and took a train around 11 o'clock from home via Munich to the S-Bahn station Unterföhring. From there it was about 4.6km as the bird flies, the total distance was about 6km. I left Unterföhring with passing agencies of some TV stations.

On my way I passed a fountain, which was dry due to winter time. It showed figures doing acrobatics on a bike. Furthermore, I could already hear the autobahn I had to cross. This noise followed my till the geohash (3km away), which reminds me, how loud such an autobahn can be.

Thereafter, I walked along a channel of the river Isar. It was partially frozen, but I didn't try to walk on the ice. Instead, I walked parallel on a dyke, before I switched to a farm track. I saw some deers looking for food. As I didn't look very delicious, they ran away.

The geohash finally was in a grove with small trees, grass and reed. I took some photographs but mostly from outside, because the view onto reed is not very impressive.

I took a bus to S-Bahn station Feldkirchen and trains from there back home.
