Success in a new country! 
Location
This one looks very accessible and on the side of the road. I work out how to get here the day before. I'm heading into town that evening to watch the Rugby World Cup but may or may not meet up with others...

After the disappointment of the previous day's failed hash and another day at work, I head into the city to watch what is left of the world cup final. It is too late to meet up with my friend and my other did not feel like coming to a crowded pub after an ENTIRE DAY of fire alarm testing at work! As predicted, Australia did not end up matching the Kiwis but without any muggles with me, this was the perfect time to cheer up with a hash in a new country (of course the Guinness was pretty good for that too). This was something on my "to do list" for the year - a new flag, plus the added bonus of a public transport and Halloween hash! Despite limited hashing adventures, one of my few was on Halloween 5 years earlier so it was also a bit of a Hashiversary for me. The last was also a solo exploration in a foreign country.
I left the pub for the metro and took it down to the area. I decided a 15 minute walk from the metro was easier than an 8 minute bus which left from ???. The gamble paid off and I actually walked in the right direction in well lit streets (it WAS dark, another country, unknown neighbourhood and Halloween afterall) to the hash point.
On the way I had passed a number of restaurants with varying degrees of patronage. I chose a cosy looking place and celebrated with a nice dinner and glass of red before taking the metro and train back to my hotel. By the time I got back I had 10000 steps for the day. Definitely a cheer up!
BONUS: I sat at the front of the metro! I like being on trains like a small boy, despite being a 30 year old woman at date of hash. So I sat the whole metro ride back with a wondrous grin on my face and took a video. It was like being on a rollercoaster.. kind of.
