Pastori and dreams of hashpoints.

After a very relaxing and warm week in the south west archipelago, Pastori and Wife relocated on the hottest day of the spring so far over 500 km to the east to settle into the south east corner of the land for another week. The temperature rose up to +26 degrees Celsius at best and it was hottttt inside the car.

With hopeful minds they advanced on a graticule that they hadn't yet conquered and neither had anyone else. Speedy highways gave way to rough dirt roads and the first smaller road turned out to be undriveable. Wife was ready to give up with there still being 1.1 km to the point, but Pastori sniffed out a possible alternative route at the next intersection that was worth a try. Piles of logs by the side of the road were a promising sing since if the road was driveable to the big trucks that would eventually haul the logs away, surely their small car would be able to drive on it too. They managed to get 40 m away from the point with the car. The point was through some thickets and moss covered forest bed. With some dancing the satellites yielded an accuracy between 0.6 and 4.8 metres, the best screencap being 2.8 m.

The last 25 km of their day's drive was joyful as the worst heat had been absorbed by the coolness of the forest. After a small detour to get some groceries they checked in at their lodgings and heated up the sauna, of course. Pastori even took a dip in the cool lake and washed off the dust of the winter. Hopefully the coming summer is good for swimming.
