Today's point was so close to their lodgings that they just had to go get it. Pastori and Wife set out directly after breakfast because it looked like there might be thunder later on in the day. The temperature was +24 degrees Celsius.

The point was 27 km as the crow flies, by car they took smaller and smaller dirt roads which were in good condition though, since it's been so dry in Finland for the past several weeks. Pastori was racing against the darkening sky. They found the spot and Pastori put on his rubber boots in anticipation of a ditch that was marked on the map. The point was 60 m from the road provided that they wouldn't have to go around any ditches or other obstacles. Pastori went ahead to Wife and called over that the route was clear when Wife was still gathering her equipment = camera. Pastori continued onward and Wife had only made it to the ditch when Pastori came barrelling back. He'd reached the point with an accuracy of 2.592 m. Pastori was so fast today that even the mosquitoes couldn't catch him. You could just see glimpses of his his t-shirt among the trees as he conquered the point.

The return trip was a little slower and the weather remained summery and pleasant. Pastori and Wife enjoyed the views of Salla and went to get some groceries for the rest of the week as well as ice cream to reward themselves for reaching the point. Back at the cottage Pastori didn't go to the sauna but took a nap after lunch.
