Expedition
From Bielefeld, I took the train to Münster. Münster is the seat of a bishop, and while I grew up in the Diocese of Münster, I never visited the dome so far, or the city at all. That has changed now, and I also visited the nearby old city hall.
The Diocese of Münster plays a role regarding the coat of arms of my home district of Cloppenburg. Cloppenburg's coat of arms includes four pieces. Two red bars and a cross representing Oldenburg, of which the district was a part of before Lower Saxony was established. Three red water lily leaves representing Tecklenburg, of which the district was part of even before. And finally, one red bar on a golden background representing the Diocese of Münster, which governed the district too at some point.
Münster is also of the seat of the WWU, one of the largest German universities. Its main seat is the Castle of Münster. The geohash is located on its terrain too, but at a different building, specifically, close to the Institute of Medical Psychology and Systems Neuroscience, on their parking lot. I found the coordinates and went back to the train station, and from there, home again.
