Location

On the pavement of a large company called Media Markt, Groningen. Easily reachable by foot, with a bicycle, with a car, even by public transport.

Plans

Shevek and Gamma decided to go by foot to the geohash since it is only 5-ish kilometers from our homes. We opted for Tron and No Batteries for a bit, but decided to just go to the geohash and that a nice walk alone would make a great evening.

Expedition

Shevek and Gamma did go by foot. It was a nice Dutch evening in terms of the weather: warm, but overcast.

Since both of us know the area quite well, no cell phones or other equipment were used during the expedition. Well, Gamma played Pokemon Go, which also provided him a map, so he technically can't claim No Batteries Achievement. But neither players bothered to even claim No Batteries anyway.

Upon reaching the geohash, a surprise revealed itself: a sign saying "Expedition" ("Expeditie" in Dutch). The sign indicates we had to go the south, but we knew better :-).

Shevek walked onwards to meetup with Malaila, Gamma took public transport (bus) to get home.

Achievements

Shevek and Gamma earned the Land geohash achievement by reaching the (53, 6) geohash on 2019-08-02.

Gamma and Shevek earned the Walk geohash Achievement by reaching the (53, 6) geohash on 2019-08-02 on foot, travelling a distance of 5 km.
